and now for something completely different

Hello boys and girls! The times they are a changin'. Over the last few weeks I've been involved in an interview process with the City of Lubbock for a Communications Operator position. This past Wednesday, the lady who's in charge of the department called me in for another interview. She informed me that I had passed the background check, but she was concerned about my job history.

For about the last 10 years or so, I've been an over-the-road trucker. Turnover rates in the trucking industry are ridiculously high........probably 90% or more! I had changed companies several times always looking for a better opportunity. I was also sort of digging my own grave in a way because all those changes do not look good on a resume or job application.

Despite all that, I GOT THE JOB!! WOOOHOOOO!!!

I was originally suppposed to start on 2/7, but now I won't start until 2/21. Long story behind that but I won't bore you with it.
